Some of the most intimidating moments are when you are a fresh mom about to leave the house with young children.
As a therapist of course I encourage moms to leave the house, it’s good medicine. However, I also understand what it takes to get out. Let me share what I know.

- You will always forget something
- Plan your exit strategy: sit at the end of the aisle, notice where you can take a small child for feeding or a quiet moment
- Bring yourself a snack!– no one wins with a hangry mom
- Breathe…yeah I said it
- Do not apologize for kids being kids…they will either get it or not…be you, and kids be themselves.
At the end of this, I am no baby whisperer, or Mary Popens..
Be kind.
